Basil Lloyd McLeod

Basil Lloyd McLeod was born on April 5th, 1939 in the District of Bambury, St. Catherine in the island of Jamaica, W.I. to the proud parents of the late Gladstone and Violet McLeod.

At the age of 15 years old the family migrated to England. There he continued his education and training. He held a job at Dunn Lot Corporation for many years. 

In 1970, Basil visited New York City and decided to stay especially when he met the love of his life Shirley whom he married for over 54 years. He and his wife Shirley later moved to Florida where they would spend their golden years of retirement.

Lloyd was a family man and a fun guy, and he loved life. He loved to travel. He enjoyed his friends, and he was very helpful to anyone he could help. He loved sports and engaged in many conversations especially when it came to baseball as he was a die hearted Yankee fan. Lloyd also loved bowling, cricket, and dominoes; so much so, he held memberships with the following clubs:

Kissimmee Bowling League

Lucas Cricket Club and

New Castle Backyard Dominoes.

Although he was sick for a while, he would always smile even in the midst of his pain and would say " I'm OK." That's because he knew God would take care of him as he had already accepted Christ during one of the many visits from one of his Pastors. 

Mr. Basil Lloyd McLeod transitioned from this life on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. He will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten. Those whom he leaves to cherish his memory are his loving wife Claudette (Shirley), his children and in-laws, his grandchildren, his only sister, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives, friends, and his New Castle Backyard Domino Family.

A Visitation for Lloyd will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will start promptly at 12 p.m. All services will be held at Poinciana Church of God. 4912 Old Pleasant Hill Road. Kissimmee, Fl. 34759
