Carita Vanez Holmes King-TARMOH, 62, was born to the parentage of the late Rev. Joseph Holmes and Eunice Juanita Lamar Holmes -Davis.
She was a loving mother of four children: Adrienne Renee Smith (Reggie) of Atlanta GA; Vincent Allen King of Minneapolis, MN; Tera Lashawn Kilgore of Indianapolis, IN; and LaTrice King (Latrice King/Kidd) of Haines City FL.
As a fun loving sister she brought much laughter to her siblings. She moved from South Bend to Mt. View, CA. Five sisters and two brothers, Paul Moore of Macon, GA; Joseph Holmes, Jr. of Macon, GA; Mary Lewis (Andrew) of Jacksonville, FL; Trudie S. Holmes-Williamson ( Harry), Daphne Y. Holmes-Johnson (Brian) of Winston Salem, NC; Karyn A. Holmes of Atlanta, GA; and Valda D. Holmes-O’Neal of South Bend, IN.
She is survived by nine grandchildren: Christian Isaiah Smith, Noah Christopher Smith, Aijanee Jackson, Vincent E. Jackson, Daniel Carter Jackson, Brooke Blakemore, Shaun Anderson, Jr., Jamia Kilgore, and Journeii Kilgore.
She is survived by nieces: Adrienne D. Moore, of Atlanta GA; Tiara S. Williamson of Atlanta, GA; Jacintha 0’Neal of Plano Texas; Monique S. Holmes-Frazier, of Atlanta GA; nephews: Xavier O’Neal, Shane O’Neal, of South Bend , IN; Brandon S. Johnson, of Winston Salem NC; and host of cousins, great nieces and nephews
She was baptized at First Baptist Church in Macon, GA at the age of 7 under leadership of the late Rev. Marshall Stinson. Her last membership was The City of Refugee under leadership of Bishop Noel Jones.
Her continual Praise of the Lord was her ticket to her heavenly journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ms. Carita on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Richard Funeral Services in Haines City, Fl.
