JE Jones, affectionately known as JD, was born on August 7, 1942, in the quaint town of Iva, South Carolina. With a spirit as bright as the sunlit waters he loved to fish, JD journey through life was filled with the simple joys that stemmed from his passions and his profound love for family. He passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, in Auburndale, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
A devoted husband to his late wife, Delores Michelle, and a proud father, JD nurtured an ever-growing family. He is survived by his children: Raymond, Susanne, Juanita, Theresa, Geneva, and Arthur, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit within them, embodying the values he instilled and the love he shared. His son, Michael, who left this world before him, remains forever missed, held dearly in the hearts of those left behind.
JD's life was a tapestry woven with threads of passion and dedication. His love for fishing went beyond mere pastime; it encapsulated moments of solitude and reflection, as well as joyous gatherings with family, where laughter echoed across shimmering lakes. Fishing allowed him to connect with nature, to find peace amid the rush of daily life, and to impart the importance of patience and perseverance to his children.
In celebration of JD’s remarkable life, family and friends will gather for a Visitation on December 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Richard Funeral Services in Haines City, Florida. The following day, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location, a time to share stories, reflections, and the profound impact JD had on so many lives. His final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest at 12:15 PM on the same day, concluding a life that was both well-lived and deeply loved.
JD's absence will be felt as a profound silence, yet in that silence will echo the lessons he imparted, the love he exuded, and the indomitable spirit that defined his journey. As we reflect on the moments spent with him, may we carry forward his legacy of compassion, joy, and a dedication to family, as we unite to honor his memory, celebrating the fisherman who taught us that life's greatest treasures are found not just in the catch, but in the company we keep.
