Joan Marie Gore

Joan Marie Gore, also known as "Angie" was born on July 19, 1956 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. As a young adult she relocated to Brooklyn, New York with dreams of becoming a Nurse. She went on to attend Brookyn College and Long Island University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. Joan enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. She loved music, travel, art, and singing, especially if it was for the Lord. 

During her time of living in Queens, Joan served as the director of the senior center at the Police Athletic League as well as the senior buddy system at a neighborhood church where she was able to do what she loved most, which was to be of service to other people. Joan developed many new hobbies and interests upon her move to the Solivita Retirement Community. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, African dance, line dance, and all of the activities the community had to offer. She made friends everywhere she went and she was always looking to make more friends. 

Joan was preceded in death by her youngest brother Adrian Lawrence. Joan is survived by two other siblings, Steve Lawrence and Patrick Gaskin, her husband Michael Gore, her daughter Trescinda, two grandchildren, TaQuanna and Tyjani, and two great-grandchildren Khalil and Gibran along with a host of many other family and friends.

A visitation for Joan will be held on Tuesday, July 16th from 1 to 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will start at 2 p.m. All services will be held at Richard Funeral Services in Haines City. 233 N 9th Street. Haines City, FL. 33844.
