Louicene Lubin, a cherished member of the Winter Haven community and a proud connoisseur of life in every capacity, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 23, 1946, in Chardonnieres, Haiti, Louicene's journey was marked by hard work, unwavering dedication, and a spirit that touched the hearts of many.
His career as a dishwasher in the hospitality industry was more than just a job; it was a testament to his commitment and a reflection of his humility. Louicene took immense pride in his work, knowing well that each plate washed was a small contribution to a larger tapestry of service and community.
A beacon of light and love, Louicene was also a proud member of Berakah Community Church of 4 Corners, where his faith and warmth inspired those around him. His belief in the power of community and the strength of fellowship enriched the lives of many. He was always ready with a comforting word or gentle smile, bringing peace and reassurance to those in need.
Louicene leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His beloved wife, Olivia St. Val, stood by his side through all of life's joys and trials. Together, they cultivated a home filled with love and laughter. Their son, Erve Lubin, and daughter-in-law, Chimene F. Lubin, continue to carry forth the values their father instilled in them.
He is also survived by his treasured nephews and nieces: Fabiola Francillon, Jacques Shuba Georges, Lucmane Belfort, Johane Michel, Jeanot Michel, Junior Lubin, and Gurlande Lubin. The bonds shared among them were a source of joy for Louicene, as he relished the moments spent laughing, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.
In addition to his immediate family, Louicene held a special place in the hearts of his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pierre Vanel Flerzil, Bernatte Lubin, Solanges Ferzil, Jeudi St. Val, and Jean St. Val. These familial connections painted his life with the colors of love and support, leaving a legacy of unity and fond memories.
Louicene's journey began in Chardonnieres, Haiti, and led him to Winter Haven, Florida, where he created a life that was vibrant and meaningful. Although he is preceded in death by his parents, Dunois Lubin and Lunisa Lubin, as well as his brothers and sisters, their love and teachings live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Today, we remember Louicene Lubin—not just for the roles he played but for the love he spread. His spirit lives on in those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. May he rest in peace, enveloped in the grace of God, and may the warmth of his memory forever light our paths.
