Massilia Demard, a beacon of love and warmth, embraced life fully from October 10, 1945, until her peaceful passing on March 1, 2025, in Haines City, Florida. Born in the vibrant town of Gonive, Haiti, she brought a piece of her homeland’s spirit with her, enriching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Massilia lived a life defined by devotion and a deep sense of community. Her loving nature and infectious laughter will be remembered by many. A dedicated mother, her heart swelled with pride for her cherished children—Francoise McKenzie, Veronique Noel, Dieuseul Noel, and Masselia Noel. Each of them carries a fragment of her essence, a reflection of her nurturing soul.
Grandmother to an impressive lineage, Massilia reveled in the joy brought to her life by her granddaughters—Ketura McKenzie, Briana Saincere, Phaikah Petit Homme, Werlene Noel, Vidlande Jean-Pierre, Evena Jean-Pierre, Cloterson Edmond, Clodia Edmond, and Dine Edmond—and her grandsons, Wilner Jean-Pierre, Emmanuel Noel, and Pierre Jean Noel. They were her pride and joy, her legacy of love moving through generations, each inheriting her vibrant spirit.
Massilia's profound love extended beyond her family, enveloping friends and neighbors in her embrace. She cherished her time in church, finding joy and solace in the faith that guided her throughout her life. Dancing was another passion, a joyful expression of her indomitable spirit that brought people together in celebration and connection.
As we gather to honor her remarkable life, we invite all those who loved her to join us on March 15, 2025, for visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM, both held at 6230 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL. Massilia will then be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at 12:30 PM at 1889 W Derby Ave, Auburndale, FL.
Massilia Demard leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter, a reminder to all of the beauty found in the simplest moments of life. She will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light illuminating our paths as we celebrate her timeless spirit.
