Molly Ann Jones, 22, of Haines City Florida passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at home surrounded by family as a result of her injuries from a car accident on July 22, 2022. She was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on September 2, 1999. She is the daughter of Patricia Ellen Scoggins-Jones who was also tragically lost as a result of the aforementioned car accident. She is survived by her father Delbert Earl Jones and her grandmother Elizabeth “Betty” Jones-Handley, her sisters Jessica DelleChiaie and Ellie Paulette Jones, her nephew Logan DelleChiaie and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Florida in 2005. She graduated from George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida in 2018 and received her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Warner University in 2021. She was also recently working on her Master’s degree from the University of Florida.
Molly was a member of the George Jenkins FFA Chapter and was awarded the Blue and Gold award in 2018. She received an award from the Polk County Cattlewomen’s Association for a scholarship in 2020 for her outstanding work at the Polk County Youth Fair and was a member of the Florida Cattlewomen’s Association. She has countless ribbons and trophies she won from the many years of youth fairs and horse shows before and after her many years of volunteering with Hope Equine Rescue and spent time helping with the Special Olympics Equestrian Center.
Molly had a fire for life and a burning passion for animals. She touched the lives of many animals in her time here on Earth, but she was especially fond of her heifer Ivy, horse Luna (Tuna), and goat Lucky. As owner and operator of Lucky’s Acres Goat Farm she was the two-legged mother to over 40 kids. She loved the rodeo and was a music lover who enjoyed attending concerts and always knew the words to every song. Molly will always be remembered by the many people she touched, will be greatly missed, and will always be with us in spirit.
A private service announcement will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, do small acts of kindness, help your neighbors, give your pet an extra treat- all in Molly’s honor.
