Robert Jackson,60, of Miami, FL, passed away at the University of Miami Hospital on March 9th after a long battle with cancer.
Robert was born on October 2, 1962, to his parents Albert and Doris (Pat) Jackson. During his adolescence, he grew a passion for art, fashion, and people. He not only won many awards for his art collections, his popularity even led to his selection as the homecoming queen escort during his senior year of high school. After graduating from Haines City High in 1980, he went on to join the Army where he would thrive as a communication specialist and spent over a year being stationed in Germany.
After his time in the military, Robert would go on to work brief stints at Burdines and AmeriFirst Bank. It was the time he would meet and fall in love with Rosita. After joining the post service, Robert married Rosita on September 25, 1987. He loved interacting and helping his customers, and would eventually spend 35+ years doing so.
Robert was a wonderful and devoted father, husband, and mentor. He always taught people that life was mental, and you need to be proud through all the ups and downs life has to offer. He supported his family and friends through the many accomplishments and difficulties of their lives. When Robert wasn’t working, he could be found hanging out with friends and enjoying life. Robert loved going out on the boat, taking long walks at the beach, and attending social events.
He is survived by his wife, Rosita; and two children: Robert and Earol. There will be a memorial service at St. Forts Funeral Home on March 19th at 10 AM.
