Bishop Sophora Johnson most affectionately known as "Founa" "Mommy" and "Boo" passed away on October 26, 2023 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 54. She was born on October 28, 1968 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to her parents, Vita Pierre and Gilvert George.
She moved to America living in Boston Massachusetts at the age of 18 with her first daughter Bergeline Riboux. Her second daughter Marie Joseph was born 4 years later. The family extended with the youngest daughters Chardy and Itey Johnson. In 2001, Mrs. Sophora met and married pastor Daniel Johnson. The family moved to Florida in 2006 and pursued Gods calling. Mrs. Johnson was a minister and started the Tabernacle of Prayer Church in Orlando.
She enjoyed singing, composing songs, dancing and worshiping, entertaining loved ones, making people laugh, cooking her delicious food that’s made with love, taking family trips, and spending time with her granddaughter and family. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, Vita Pierre and Gilvert George.
Mrs. Sophora Johnson leaves behind her devoted husband of 22 years, Daniel Johnson;her daughters, Bergerline Riboux, Marie Joseph, along with her granddaughter Israella Nicolas, including her extended children, Reneajah, Chardy, Itey, Wadley and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m at New Hope Seventh Day Adventist Church: 1102 26th Street Orlando, FL 32805.
