Violet Teresa Smith

Mrs. Violet T. Smith most affectionately known as “Vee” passed away on October 24, 2023 in Kissimmee, Florida at the age of 74. She was born on May 10, 1949 in Clarendon, Jamaica to her parents, Whydolph A. Richards and Veronica T. Beckford.

Mrs. Violet later met the love of her life, Desmond L. Smith and they shared 28 years of marriage together. She worked in hospitality and retired from the Four Season’s Hotel. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, watching soap operas and baking. She was proud to be an active church member and pantry treasurer.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents, Whydolph A. Richards and Veronica T. Beckford.

Mrs. Violet T. Smith leaves her devoted husband, Desmond L. Smith; her children, Nadine S. Johnson, O’neil R. Johnson, Lauren A. Johnson, Shante' Murray; her daughter-in-law, Monique Johnson; her grandchildren, Shaun, Andre, Alyna, Logan, Mason, Malya, Shayn Johnson, & Taylor Faustin; her siblings, Rona Richards, Rupert Richards, Madge Richards, Joan Richards, Alva Maureen White, Ervine Richards, Joette Richards, Glen Richards, Kenneth Richards, Ann Richards, Tracy McCabe “Tish”, Sharon Richards, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her legacy.

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Smith will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:00am at Poyser Way New Testament Church of God 935 S 53rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19143.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 6pm at Faith Family Outreach Ministries 317 N. Randolph Avenue Kissimmee, FL 34741.
